Take 5 for Music

This program engages students with 5 minutes of classical music, 5 days a week for 5 years. It is a simple, yet highly effective listening program that introduces young students to music.

Look, Listen, Learn!

Brings the excitement of live music into the classroom. Small ensembles from the Phil – including a string quartet, brass quintet, woodwind quintet and a percussion duo – offer fun mini-concerts to South Shore schools in informal, up-close settings. The program has been offered since 1977.

Music Immersion Program

A unique collaboration between Plymouth Public School administrators, teachers, their supporters, and the Plymouth Philharmonic. This program engages 3rd and 4th graders who hear Phil ensembles in their school over the course of the year. The program culminates in the spring when over 2000 area school children attend a live, daytime performance of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra at Memorial Hall.

Link Up Program

The Phil brought The Weill Music Institute’s Link Up music program straight from Carnegie Hall to our community. More than 800 children from public schools in Plymouth, Marshfield, Carver, and Wareham participated in this year-long, in-school, interactive music program which culminates in a live musical performance with our orchestra.

South Shore Conservatory Youth Orchestra

The South Shore Conservatory Youth Orchestra (SSCYO) has been in partnership with the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra since its inception in 2007. Under the direction of Elijah Langille, SSC Youth Orchestra Program Director & Principal Conductor, the SSCYO is an auditioned, sequential youth orchestra program that provides an opportunity for dedicated young musicians grades 4-College a place to perform symphonic music at a high level in a well-organized and supportive full orchestra program. Artistic Advisor Steven Karidoyanes meets and rehearses with the students three times a year. The senior orchestra of SSCYO joins the Phil in concert every-other season. Auditions for SSCYO are ongoing and additional information is available on the SSCYO website.
