Give and keep live music alive in our community!

Be Inspired.  Be Engaged.  BE ENTERTAINED!

Dear Music Lover,

Matt Sorensen, a Plymouth native, a musician, a teacher, and perhaps one of the most promising young composers of our time.

Matt’s love of music began when he was a child.
His mother listened to Italian opera and his dad listened to the Beatles.  Matt claims that being exposed to music of all different types at a young age led him on a life-long journey of self-expression.  But unlike most kids his age, he did not want to grow up and become a rock star.  He did not want to perform.  Instead, he wanted to create.

“I believe that the music shapes our outlook on life,” says Matt.  “For each of us there is a moment…a single moment…when inspiration takes hold.”   As a young child, Matt heard Andrew Lloyd Webber’s haunting score, Phantom of the Opera, played live.  That was his “moment” and he’s been pursuing his passion for music ever since.

On October 15th at the Phil’s Opening Night performance, Matt’s music was played live by his home-town orchestra.  For him, having his music played in Plymouth brings his life’s work full circle.  He is now composing music for the very orchestra that inspired him as a child.  His hope is that his music will now inspire all who hear it.

Who can predict when that single moment of inspiration will strike?  Inspiration can only be found through experience.  For this reason, we generously thank our supporters who understand the importance of live music.  Now, we ask for your help once more.

With your support the Phil can reach thousands of individuals in our community, planting countless seeds of inspiration.  Please help us keep the arts alive in our community with a gift of $«Gift_Ask»

Please give today!  Who knows?  The next Matt Sorensen may be sitting in the audience.

Sincerely,

Judith Fosdick
